Essential (always on)
The calculators save a few values in your browser's local storage: your province, your home details and recent results (so you only enter them once), and your cookie choices. Nothing here is sent to us or used for advertising.
| Name | What it does | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| meu:prov | Your selected province | Until you clear it |
| meu:home, meu:last, meu:kwh | Home details and calculator results shared between tools | Until you clear it |
| meu:consent | Your cookie choices | 12 months, then we ask again |
| meu:theme | Light or dark mode | Until you clear it |
Analytics (off unless you allow it)
If you allow analytics, we count page views and calculator use to learn what's useful. We don't use analytics to identify you.
Marketing (off unless you allow it)
If you allow marketing cookies, ad platforms such as Meta can measure whether our ads lead to visits and show our ads to people who've been to the site. These providers have their own privacy policies.
Changing your mind
Use the Privacy button at the bottom-left of any page, or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Turning a category off stops it from loading on your next page view. You can also clear site data in your browser settings.
